About the event
I have a multi-disciplinary background including experience in clinical practice, education, research, and volunteering. Professionally, I most recently worked as an Assistant Psychologist on a Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT), where I assisted with MDT diagnostic assessments, evidence-based interventions, and psychometric testing under senior supervision. This follows my previous experience as a primary school teacher in a Gaelscoil within the DEIS programme and as a support worker at St. Hilda’s Adult Disability Services, where I implemented behavioural support plans, trauma-informed teaching, and person-centred approaches. Additionally, I have experience volunteering with the Samaritans and hold targeted continuous professional development in areas such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and PETMA.
Alongside my professional practice, I have experience within academia and research spheres. I have a first class hours degree in Psychology from DCU and a Professional Masters in Primary Education. I worked as a Psychology Research Assistant at DCU on a Health Research Board-funded project examining care access for children with intellectual disabilities, and I have a peer-reviewed publication on autistic children’s sleep habits and family functioning. I am delighted to have commenced the Doctorate in Educational Psychology in UCD this September, 2026.
